Professional waste solutions experts M&M Waste Solutions have agreed a multi-year deal as principal sponsors of Oxford City’s female pathway.
The agreement will see M&M Waste Solutions support City’s entire female programme from U10s to the first team plus students studying Velocity Football and young players participating at grassroots level.
The Yarnton-based organisation will also appear on Oxford City Women’s home, away and training kits throughout their Southern Region Women’s Football League campaign.
Aliyah Anthony, Oxford City Women’s first-team manager, believes the partnership can encourage more girls living in Oxfordshire to considering playing competitive football.
“It’s been an extraordinary summer for women’s sport,” said Aliyah. “And England’s triumph at the European Championships can only inspire more girls across the UK to start playing football.
“As a club committed to the development of the women’s game, we are anticipating our busiest season yet and want to extend the feel-good factor generated this summer into our upcoming campaign and beyond.
“We believe it’s important all young girls and women understand there are no barriers between themselves and sports participation, regardless of their knowledge, ability or background.
“The support M&M Waste Solutions is providing is invaluable to our team and the development of female players in Oxfordshire at all levels. We really appreciate their backing and are pleased to have them onboard our journey to help female footballers fulfil their true potential both on and off the pitch.”
Rob Fluckiger, Group Managing Director at M&M Waste Solutions, added: “Just like the Lionesses, M&M Waste Solutions is proudly marking its 50th anniversary this year.
“It’s extraordinary to reflect how far the women’s game has come since 1972, especially in recent years with the FA Women’s Super League turning professional. But without support at grassroots level, our proud national squad has nothing to fall back on.
“Our team share an enthusiasm for sport and supporting the wider Oxfordshire community, so this agreement with Oxford City FC is a real fit.
“Aliyah’s enthusiasm for the game and women’s sport especially is infectious and we look forward to monitoring the progress of players not just on the pitch but off it too as they make new connections, develop skills for life and create lasting memories.”
